I have no idea why you keep hyping this band up.
They were one of the worst live acts I've seen last year, and I know that I'm not the only one who can't stand them.

they're fantastic

Eric -
Your anti-Wilderness stance intrigued me enough to check out your blog, where I stumbled across your review of Wilderness. Awesome.
It doesn't get much better than a critique that Wilderness's songs all "sounded the same" in the same breath as a glowing review of...Explosions in the Sky. If Wilderness "sounded the same" to your finely-tuned ears, did Explosions in the Sky just appear to be a single tone, sustained, for 45 minutes?
Thanks for the scoop on Coachella and SXSW, as well as up and coming unheard of bands like Wolf Parade and Ted Leo. Your edgy insight and descriptions of these bands are invaluable, and your inside info on these festivals will surely help them become more well known.
Eric, you're the indie rock Jackie Harvey. Keep on rockin. Awesome!

I disagree, Eric. I saw them in Chicago and thought they put on a great show. I've never seen a guitarist enjoy playing the guitar so much. That alone would make me see them again.
Now, tell me more about this "South by Southwest" thing you mention on your blog. It sounds incredible, why have I not heard of it before?

wilderness was a pretty decent opening act, but they'd be a helluva lot better with a talented vocalist.

The sarcasm was only mildly funny the first time.

Guys, lighten up... It IS a blog on AOL...where indie stuff and AOL is like oil and water. Wow, I didn't know I would ruffle the feathers of so many staunch Wilderness fans.
And who says I'm competing with this blog or anyone else's? It's just mostly about the shows I go to, a few pics, and if I liked em or not.

Guys, lighten up! It IS a blog on AOL...where anything indie is like mixing oil and water. Wow, I didn't know I would ruffle the feathers of so many staunch Wilderness fans. Just because Pitchfork gave them a good review does it mean I have to like them too?

Is it really that hard to press 'post' once and just wait?

yes, it is.

(yes it is)

Oh come on Matt, I think plenty of music bloggers have posted the dates to SXSW and Coachella. It's not like Eric wrote some 700-word essay about the festivals, he merely mentioned them. And I've seen plenty of music bloggers hyping Wolf Parade long after they've been hyped enough. It's the same thing with Clap Your Hands. Not everyone gets around to checking out bands at the same speed. The real question is how come there aren't more music bloggers hyping the new Mountains album, which is absolutely brilliant? Is it because Pitchfork has yet to review it?

Wilderness is my word y'all, and I'm seeing them tomorrow night at Cake Shop - despite this Eric fellow's hate-hate-hate I'm psyched for some love-love-love. All I gotta say is they're a little on the dense side. Thankfully, since I'm a fucking genius, I get it (and them).

no Minneapolis date, motherfucking bitch ass

Two shows at Cake shop means they couldn't get one show at Mercury, even though they played there the last time around. This happens when the hype wears off and people begin to realize that the band actually sucks.

Why cut down the wilderness? Can't anyone see real beauty in the sublime anymore? Happy travels boys.Your the best.
