8 & 11 years old | the Muldoons opening for Raconteurs

The Muldoons

The Raconteurs show sold out almost instantly. As many pointed out, the Muldoons are opening.

AT SXSW & JACK WHITE CONNECTION
"Quite possibly the youngest group to ever perform at the Blowout, the Muldoons, all of 8 and 11 years old, wowed the capacity crowd at Paycheck's Lounge on Friday with help from their dad on drums. But the warm reception for the group's garage-punk sound was not a total shocker. The band has a four-song vinyl single produced by the White Stripes' Jack White and its first live performance was opening for the White Stripes last year. While they're young and somewhat rusty, there is something infectiously likeable about them." [Detroit Free Press]

Take THAT Sufjan opening-for, Death Cab hanging-out-with, Eels-opening-for Smoosh.

So Jack White's child-molester mustache wasn't baseless irony after all.

smoosh can suck it. i live in the seattle area and they have unfortunately gotten on a few too many bills... gimmick...

Smoosh was a gimmick. They were the Mary-Kate and Ashley of indie music.

That Free Press excerpt refers to the "Hamtramck Blowout" not SXSW. The Hamtramck Blowout is a large festival of Detroit area indie bands that takes place every March. It is probably the largest of its kind.

A Muldoon fact: the young rockers have an usual record of only playing in front of sold out audiences. Four in Detroit, and now one in New York.

Make that an "unusual record" of only playing in front of sold out audiences.

This band is not only the lamest piece of shit I have ever heard, but I've seen them too. It was like listening to some Sesame Streetesque ponk (pop/shitty punk) about kids eating cereal... Horrible band, you can see them play anywhere, grab two stupid looking, unmusical kids off the street and then throw them at instruments. Think about what else you could do with your money besides pay to babysit and listen to a family friend favor recorded CD..... PLUS...nope that's not it. They stole their name from THE MICHIGAN PUNK BAND

1988-2002? THE MULDOONS!!!!! Northern Michigan University and the surrounding area are forever grateful. These kids weren't even alive then, you'd think Jack White or the Dad would've explained that..you can't name the band ACDC or The fuckin gimme gimme and the yeah yeah yeahs! because there's already another band. They just couldn't say no then I guess...I smell temper tantrums from what looks like aloof Peter and Bobby Brady.....FUCK THIS BAND
