Funny Arctic Monkeys links
I would link to Arctic Monkeys' SNL appearance, but it "has been removed due to copyright infringement". Instead watch the Four Stages of The Arctic Monkeys on Stereogum (if you haven't already). Then of course there's the infamous acceptance speech. Kanye says they're like Phil Collins. Are you sick of hearing about the Arctic Monkeys?
Over the course of the next two weeks, Arctic Monkeys will play one show each in NYC and Austin, and my question is why they haven't added a 2nd show in either of those places. There are free days in their schedule, and there seems to be a demand.

i've wondered the exact same thing about a possible friday night show and my theory is that they are going to announce it at the very last second (thursday night/friday morning). they have been ranting in nme about how much they hate scalpers and the fact that people are paying $200 to see their shows.

The "Four Stages" segment was frighteningly accurate. Not sick of them yet...

if this is the first time in the States for any of them, i'd wager a guess that they want those free days to have fun/get wasted/do shit. You know, like you'd want to do in a place you've never been.

First of all this isn't the first time in the states for them since they did play at the Bowery Ballroom last November.
But yes I agree that they probably want to have some fun. After all, they are all just normal teenage lads that want to enjoy their trip to New York. Also, they will be pretty damn tired from all the touring. Everyone needs a break sometimes.

They started their tour in San Francisco and since it was the start of their tour and they weren't busy the week before I figured they would add another show in San Francisco because it sold out so fast and tickets were going for ridicously large sums of money on ebay ...anyway... I wrote their publicist and she said it was unlikely they would any new shows... but hopefully for your sake they've changed there minds
..... I ended up going to the SF show and it was amazing
