BV, you just made my day. Now, if only the Flaming Lips would add another show...

Awesome. They don't tour in the US that often and I thought I missed my only chance at Avalon.

What was bad about Avalon? The sound? I'm just curious since I haven't been there before, and will be there for the Mono/Pelican show this May.

the sound is very clear it was waayyyyy too loud in the front.
main problem: the security at the door were very rude / discourteous and just uncalled for - like i wanted to spit in the dude's face. soured my night. and i wasnt the only one that had issues with that. you'd think if they were hosting an instrumental indie band, and the crowd was mostly 20s/30s, you dont need intrusive searches and such. in addition they couldnt even organize the drink bracelet system.
AND they use ticketmaster, a sign of the devil.

the spitting comment may have been a bit harsh, but you get the drift

I'm beginning to think Ticketmaster is a lot better than Ticketweb. At least Ticketmaster's website can handle more than two people buying tickets at the same time.

I thought the Avalon was great. I got there early enough to get a space on the balcony and the view was awesome. I also thought the sound was better at Avalon than at Warsaw, where I saw them last, and Webster Hall which always sounds muddy to me. Mogwai are always LOUD live, no matter where they play, so bring earplugs if you want to stand in the front.
