The Filter party pics were so popular, here's another one.
PATIENCE LEVITATING
I first saw the Grates at their late night showcase on the upstairs stage at the Parish. It's the same show I saw the Young Knives play. This REALLY drunk guy was scaring me a little. Next thing you know he was on his back in the middle of the stage....
Security quickly jumped on stage and escorted him out. Patience (the singer) said she didn't know if the incident was a good thing or a bad thing. She seemed to be enjoying it before security got him though.

I was hoping they would throw that guy out. But no. He was drunk and annoying to the very end of the showcase.

I love these photos!! I was right next to that wierdo drunk guy when he boosted himself on stage at The Parish, having a good laugh with my cousin. He WAS thrown out (after Pae had a good drum on his tum tum), but somehow managed to get back in later.
What a fantastic showcase! I'm so glad I stumbled on your site. :D
