45 freakin' dollars to go see a show at Webster Hall. Great.
I love Os Mutantes, but I'll pass.

Not cheap... but, first shows since '73 (and only 3 shows worldwide) may be worth the extra dosh in this case.

One problem: the original singer is not part of the reunion. Pretty pointless, just like The Cars reunion that's happening this summer without Ocasek.

The Cars are shit and the replacement for Ocasek is Todd Rundgren- a decent artist who should know better. As for Os Mutantes, Rita wasn't part of the line-up for at least half of their recording career. Sergio and Arnaldo are the core members and BOTH will be present for these shows.

Happy to hear someone else thinks the sound was whack. And I guess I hadn't heard much- or any- of the latter Os Mutantes... the serious disappointment I felt at the show was feeling like a Sylvia Plath moment (I thought I would kill myself). I guess I don;t know what I expected-- the truth is the Os Mutantes I have and treasure from the 60s is too good to try to approximate- it was too good to hold onto even then-- and it remains holy. So now I'm just wondering if I wish I hadn't even went... (and I'm not even considering the money I spent... just the part of my soul that might have died a little last night)

Maybe the show at Webster Hall sucked, but, the show at The Fillmore in San Francisco was pure magic. They sounded EXACTLY like the records. Truly wonderful and amazing.
