Slayer, Lamb of God, Mastodon | Summer 2006 Tour Dates
Slayer is going on tour with Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, and Mastodon this summer (the Unholy Alliance Tour). June 16th they're at Continental Airlines Arena in NJ. All dates below...
BUT FIRST: Mastodon just reissued "Call of the Mastodon"
"Mastodon's set at the Bowery Ballroom last May, consisting mainly of material from their 2004 watershed Leviathan, was one of the more amazingly realized live moments I witnessed in 2005. In what felt like a series of sucker punches, epic after epic from the Atlanta quartet's second album was rendered with hardcore tightness and punctuated by bassist and vocalist Troy Sanders' puff-chested salty Ahab salutes. The band had signed to Warner around that time; by default, I envisioned the set as a swaggering big-city climax after years of grunt work." [Pitchfork gave it a 7.3]

Yeah, Children of Bodom is playing there, I heard that each band gets an hour each to perform, making the entire thing 5 hours or something. That's fucking crazy awesome! Hope to see lots of people there.

Metal vets Slayer (tickets | music) have pushed back the start of their "Unholy Alliance" tour due to bassist/vocalist Tom Araya's minor gallbladder surgery, which took place last week.
Only three dates are affected on the tour, which also features Lamb of God (tickets | music), Children of Bodom (tickets | music), Mastodon (tickets | music) and Thine Eyes Bleed (tickets | music). All three shows have been rescheduled from their original early June dates to new dates at the tail end of the tour.
The touring metal festival, which Slayer plans to make an annual event, according to an earlier press release, will now kick off June 12 in St. Louis. The seven-week outing—originally slated to both begin and end on the West Coast--will now start in the Midwest.
The rescheduled dates are in San Diego, Las Vegas and Denver.

The First time I saw Slayer,I was about 16 yrs old, and it was the reign in blood tour w/ Testament @ Nassau Colliseum. I had 15th row, and when Slayer came on, I think I shit my pants. Ive been seeing them every tour since _/W\_

I plan to drive 5 hours from northern virginia to east rutherford N.J. to hug my grandma before she dies. Oh and also I will get rowdy in the mosh pit rockin out to some fuckin slayer! Best band ever. I'll be the 135 pounder gettin knocked around wearing my kill whitey t-shirt. Seeya there. SSLLAAYYEERR!! I wear white t-shirts to shows so i can see the blood and dirt.
