The Duke Spirit having VISA problems
"In the Bummer Department, our tour-mates for this trip, The Duke Spirit, are apparently caught up in some visa snafu, and will apparently not be able to meet up with the tour until Rochester! So that means, from the Duke Spirit, good-bye Brooklyn, Providence, Boston, and New Haven, but HELLLOOOOOOOO Rochester! We are not psyched that we have to wait to see them. We are, however, psyched to announce that the DIABOLICAL Direct From Hollywood Cemetery will be bloodying your freakin' face in Brooklyn, and theDELECTABLE Mad Man Films saucin' up your joint in Boston. I'm not entirely sure what's happening in Provvy and Sweet Haven, but come and be surprised!!" [says Ted Leo]

"Usually the machinations of the US and UK bureaucracy add little excitement to StarTime International’s daily routine but the British Embassy granted the Duke Spirit’s visas today! An intrepid courier will deliver the documents to their headquarters at 8am tomorrow morning and the band and crew will be jetting across the Atlantic a few hours later. That means (very sadly) they will miss tonight’s sold-out show at the Hook in Brooklyn and tomorrow’s gig in Providence, Rhode Island. (Headliner Ted Leo will, of course, still bring the rock.) Although sad to miss any of the tour the boys and girl of the Duke Spirit are delighted to be finally getting here."

last night's show was incredible! TL/Rx played a long set (including a few new tracks), then came back for something like a 6-song encore (i lost count), closing with my first favorite song of theirs, "parallel or together?" les aus were interesting - chicks love them. LOVE them.
