i wonder why the budget is lower this year? id rather have a few exellent bands, than a lot of weaker bands IMO.

Apparantly for the last 2 years the organized had been borrowing money from the '06 fund, so that is why this year's budget is less.

Both Major Events Coordinators from 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 both received $95,000 to put on two shows (Fall Fest and Culture Shock). There is no smaller budget.

95 grand?!?! are you kidding me? how the hell do you have such a shitty line up with 95 thousand dollars. thats crap if you ask me.

$95,000 minus the cost of fall fest, stage and sound runs around $30,000, carnival, campus security asked for $10,000, catering, hotels and flights (if necessary) etc etc etc
you also have no idea what some bands ask for

the person above me is totally right. apparently two years ago thurston moore charged $25,000 and blonde redhead charged $20,000 to play about 5 songs. and you can't really blame them considering colleges/universities are where bands like these are actually able to make decent money for once. although it is slightly ridiculous.

that is how much they asked i bet
but definitely not what we paid them
the most we've paid for a headlining act at purchase is $15K i think...and that's rare
