Ted Leo had mentioned during the Knitting Factory tour last month that they were looking forward to playing the Seaport again this year, assuming there were no natural disasters.

The most exciting part is that there is sure to be dozens more announced. They haven't announced the Battery Park or Pier 54 shows yet!

I'm hearing early June for the Super Furries. Road trip!

Didn't they have artists that were actually interesting last year? I would've killed to see Arcade Fire with David Bowie.

Posted by Bort | April 12, 2006 12:54 PM

The Arcade Fire one was actually for CMJ.

(also - this year is great so far!)

Posted by brooklynvegan | April 12, 2006 1:19 PM

Thanks vegan for letting me know about the free hot chip show. I can't wait! The Warning will be out by that month

castle clinton is a nice venue if you can get seats close to the stage...saw m ward, spoon, cat power, magnetic fields, ryan adams, and a bunch of others there over the years.

This is very exciting. Free shows during the summer always redeems NYC for me. The offerings are very sophisticated this year. Lots of great African and Latin music. Styleywhitehipsters, don't be afraid to expand your horizons this year.
