Jamie Lidell @ Southpaw, Brooklyn, NYC | pics, MP3
DOWNLOAD: Multiply (MP3)

Jamie Lidell played Southpaw in Brooklyn Wednesday night (April 26, 2006). Jimmy Edgar opened and later joined him on one song. Tuesday night the same lineup played Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan. Thursday night they end their tour in Philly. If its not sold out and you're in Philly, GO.

The encore was especially off the hook. First someone convinced Jamie to join the crowd. Then the mic went from person to person, and there were at least four audience members that sang REALLY well. Jamie got back on stage and then invited everyone to join him there. So many people went up that the security had to stop it. There was lots of dancing and singing and Jamie making magic with all his toys.
JIMMY EDGAR & JAMIE LIDELL

THIS GUY (AND HIS FRIEND) ENJOYED THE SHOW THE MOST

I believe one of the singers was Alice Smith. She's great.
Though I got there a bit on the late side, I caught most of Lidell's set. He was incredible. Quite the showman.

WOW! The show was great.
I'm so bummed I missed the encore.
It's been a while since I've left a show with such a happy grin on my face.

He's opening for Beck when he goes on tour this summer. I can't figure out if there are any NYC area dates, or when.

jamie's live show is AMAZING. i fucking love him. Warp is really off the hook lately with Jamie, signing grizzly bear and classics like Boards of Canada and broadcast. them and mute signing knife and jose gonzalez are doing the right thing. xl signing tapes n tapes is boring.
