That quote comes across completely the wrong way when you take it out of context... he wasn't saying that he doesn't think the Artic Monkeys are deserving of attention, just that the music industry are idiots for ignoring the internet, mp3s and the whole "digital music" revolution for so long.

I'ts more of a bag on the industry types but, let's face it, he singled out the AM's for a reason... they don't deserve the uber-hype relative to other good bands out there. Though I detect sympathy from him in his use of the adjective "poor."

Also, I don't think he's trying to put forth an original criticism of the music industry. Does every single thought of his have to be original? Since when does that make a criticism more or less valid? The point is that if anyone has the credibility to critique the industry, its lameness and the hype machine around a "band of the moment," it's Thom Yorke.
