Red Hot Chili Peppers report: "Over the years, Irving Plaza has served as Polish Army Veterans headquarters, a Yiddish theater, a burlesque house (Gypsy Rose Lee stripped here), and even a boxing arena. But for a few hours on May 8th it will be the home of the Red Hot Chili Peppers as they launch Stadium Arcadium in the US.

that's the point

im embarassed to admit. i want to go to this incredibly badly. but i guess my chances are approximately zero. no interest in listening to these stations or paying 30 bucks for a fanclub membership.

stupid stupid.. they need to get with the times.. have a competition on myspace or something more original.. no one wants to listen to mainstream radio!... yuck

You don't actually have to listen to the stations. For some you just have to register, and for the case of Q104 you have to search around their website for a "Red Dot Spot" to win. I thought it was fun even though I wasted about an hour of work looking for it.

RHCP will also be performing at the 2006 MTV Networks Upfront May 2 at The Theater At Madison Square Garden. Show starts at 4:30PM. Chili Peppers probably won't perform till around 5:30. Need to have a ticket or know someone in the media business to get in. I'll be there!!

Posted by Jables | April 25, 2006 4:38 PM

where did you find the red dot?

Posted by boa | April 25, 2006 5:31 PM

I can not find this red dot for the life of me.

Posted by Lo | April 25, 2006 6:08 PM

even checked for ads or commercials....since tis called "SPOT" nada!

Posted by boa | April 25, 2006 6:12 PM

i found it on one of the weekend top ten lists...i'm pretty sure if what breakthrough songs, but the banner doesn't seem to be there anymore...i think maybe they're constantly changing it.

when you found the right page though, you'll pretty much know right away. the banner on the top right will tell you.

I found it again on Top ten songs that bothered your parents....keep checking the lists and you'll likely find it.

not that it really matters though. finding the dot only makes you eligible to win, so it's still a one in a million chance of winning

worst contest ever. q104 has the worst web site ever. i think the red spot is on the 'hunk of the day' feature next to that man's bulge...

Posted by ondal | April 25, 2006 9:33 PM

i found the dot on the fist link i clicked.

Posted by daniel | April 25, 2006 9:46 PM

I don't understand why you would want to go to this show?

Posted by Err uhh | April 25, 2006 9:59 PM

well, rhcp is definitely the band i listened to the most up until about 15 years of age. and those bands always have a certain unmatched significance.

Posted by daniel | April 25, 2006 10:48 PM

Sometimes when these bands play 'small intimate shows' it's like, get over your self! But in this case, they are just reaching out to their tween fan fase. z100 is one of the worst radio stations ever by the way. How 'cred' is it that these radio stations are paying them to play this show so that they can get the corporate income. I'll pose the question: Can Anthony Kedis' ego fit in the doors of Irving Plaza? I always did like Flea.
