Scissor Sisters shows @ Bowery Ballroom | on sale @ noon

Scissor Sisters will be playing two shows at New York's Bowery Ballroom in advance of their Coachella Festival appearance. The shows are Saturday and Sunday, April 22 and 23. Tiga is DJing before and after Scissor Sisters, and there may be some surprise guests as well. Tickets on sale at noon. As we hoped, these are the secret shows advertised by the Green Apple Music Festival.

are they playing under a different name like last time? nothing is listed for scissor sisters on ticketweb.

Posted by halified | April 5, 2006 9:00 AM

i received an email from their administrator saying

The management don't want this news appearing anywhere but on the
board.

Posted by javier buchananeversonia | April 5, 2006 9:24 AM

where did you get such specific info?
it's almost 10:30 and ticketweb still doesn't say anything about it.

Posted by craig. | April 5, 2006 10:08 AM

Ticket web doesn't appear to be working, back up at 4 pacific time, anyone else having that problem?

Posted by Lucy | April 5, 2006 10:28 AM

Blimey....$25 before fees...grrr...

Posted by Qbertplaya | April 5, 2006 11:56 AM

wow...got my 2. first time i didn't encounter problems w/ ticketweb during a crazy sale. the tickets are only will call thru ticketweb -- to curb scalpers?

Posted by Qbertplaya | April 5, 2006 12:11 PM

yes - they aren't even selling paper tickets at the box office. Other bands should take note.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2006 12:16 PM

BV, you are a golden god.

Posted by Relby | April 5, 2006 12:16 PM

yes - other bands and people trekking down to the mercury lounge in the blizzard - take note: online willcall sales only.

Posted by rad | April 5, 2006 12:21 PM

i was able to get tickets for each night - but no confirmation email from ticketweb. is anyone else having that problem? when i log into my account i see that the order went through but still no emails ....

Posted by anastasia | April 5, 2006 12:32 PM

I got confirmation, but on ticketweb the 22nd is listed as 21+ and the 23rd 18+. On confirmation it says 23rd is also 21+, but im sure its an error.

Posted by k money | April 5, 2006 1:18 PM

with the new(ish) ticket machine they have at the mercury that replaced the longstanding file folder with tickets does the mercury box office now sell out when ticketweb sells out or are they allotted a certain amount?

Posted by javier buchananeversonia | April 5, 2006 1:28 PM

no

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2006 1:36 PM

So who's throwing the tailgating party before the show?

Posted by jerry | April 5, 2006 1:37 PM

yes it means that when ticketweb sells out, they sell out

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2006 1:44 PM

javier: anonymous is right, except that for shows they expect to have really high demand (editors, arctic monkeys, flaming lips) right at the public onsale time, they do print an allotment for people who want to wait on line and avoid the fees. i suspect that the scissor sisters shows are online/willcall only to keep scalpers away (perhaps specified by their management?)

does anyone know what the deal is with tix from other music tho? how they decide which shows to sell there? and whether they have pre-printed tickets?

Posted by rad | April 5, 2006 1:47 PM

I don't think Ticketweb is sending out confirmation emails anymore. I didn't get one when I ordered Stellastarr* tickets a couple months ago but I had no problem with my name being on the will call list. Maybe it's just me?

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2006 2:01 PM

i got a conformation e-mail.....

the 22nd is now sold out.

Posted by avt | April 5, 2006 2:04 PM

Posted by anastasia | April 5, 2006 2:05 PM

The seccond show is confirmed as being 18+ on Bowery's Site...made me a little hesistant to buy but I figured I could always sell them to somebody in line or charge it back on the credit card because of the contradictory messages.

Does anyone have any guesses as to who any extra "special guests" might be? Any chance that Elton would show up there to do their duet? I would freak out!

Posted by David | April 13, 2006 3:17 PM

I just saw that Elton's show Lestat is opening only two days later. I have some kinda feeling that he is going to show up there, but maybe that is just my wishful thinking!

Posted by David | April 14, 2006 1:09 PM

This company SUCKS. Why do promoters keep using them. I urge any Promoter or band thinking about Ticketweb selling your tickets to go elsewhere. Their site sucks. I think they have an old Atari console as their server duct-taped to an internet connection ......Their site cant handle any traffic!
