I'm not passing judgment on Lily yet, but I do enjoy the vibe. I was comparing her to Lady Sov because they both have great wordplay. They also tap into that British chav culture. You do get a sense of where the music is coming from.

I do think the songs she has do sound like demos, it needs some polish to them.

One does wonder how much her looks will factor into her success and future record dealings.

I'm with Esther Q. I don't hear anything here that Estelle or Esthero aren't doing better.

I would agree with those who say that the chances that you'll appreciate her music coincide with how much you wanna bang her. I have often suspected that that's how bloggers choose which female artists are "ones to watch." Of cours that also goes for who record companies choose to break. It's a shame really.

lady sov's whole deal is that she is this tiny badass little girl that can roll with all these big grime guys. this girl sounds like she would be more at a home with craig david than mike skinner. it is catchy, but the value is being blown out of proportion. in terms of a radio-friendly single, it's high quality, but other than that, meh.

The MySpace picture gallery tells a very mixed story (that one of her in the g-unit shirt...yeesh! Can you say "busted"?) But overall, she's probably pretty cute in person.

I think people are more in love with the idea of her. That is to say, she's a cute, creative, and probably somewhat cool/interesting girl who happens to make music that's far enough away from the mainstream to be deemed "hip". Great date/wifey material, but the songs themselves don't really hold up for me.
