Band of Horses @ Sasquatch

Jerry's full 2006 Sasquatch! Festival review will be up soon, but when I can tell you now that he thought Band of Horses were great. They're playing three NYC shows in June.

I missed them during SXSW 2006, but they'll be back in Austin this June. I got my ticket in hand.

I saw them at Sasquatch as well. Wow. I loved their music. It also didn't hurt having a potpourri of high powered chemicals pulsing through my brain. Can't wait to see them again!

Maybe I'm in need of some high powered chemicals myself. I simply don't enjoy their music very much and I found their Sasquatch set to be boring. Some of the songs are alright, but I can't stand Great Salt Lake (especially the live KEXP version I heard, which was god awful).

Woah, did I just voice a negative comment? I must be drunk. The nice guy who loves everything just surrendered to the power of the drinky-drink. I don't like Band Of Horses! Wow, I feel empowered.

Ouch!

Great Salt Lake is my favorite song on the album.

I'm wondering what fans thought of their Bowery show on 6/16. Considering I love the album, I was pretty disappointed with the show. The reverb was off the charts and distored the overall sound. The band seemed to either lack confidence and/or charisma and lost the crowd--at least towards the back where people were chatting and otherwise unconvinced by the set. Hopefully they'll get better with more touring.

I saw them at Maxwells on Saturday and I thought they had plenty of charisma. They had a pleasant banter going with the crowd and everyone seemed to be into the set. My only problem with the show was that they played two versions of "Wicked", but refused to play "St. Augustine" because "the guy who wrote the song [wasn't there]". Pretty lame, but they played some new songs which were really good.

half of the charm of st. augustine is mat (the guy who wasn't there) and ben's vocals mixing with each other....so i can completely understand why ben didn't want to play it on saturday night.
makes sense to me. :)

I remember their concerts in 2006 and 2007 they were great, the public was booming, unfortunately I don't know why I haven't heard about them for a while.
