Cold War Kids @ Pianos (night 1), NYC | pics
Cold War Kids played the first of three shows at Pianos in NYC last night (Monday, May 1, 2006). Though at times repetitive, the LA band played a soulful, energetic, and rockin' set of songs that shouldn't disappoint if you like the MP3s.

Look for more detailed reviews on pretty much every other blog in the city. David Cross was there too. The next two shows are Tuesday and Wednesday night. Tuesday night stay around for the Underrated afterparty right upstairs, and get there early for a free show by the Upwelling.

I didn't care too much for the MP3s, so I'm glad I didn't go.

Both you and David Cross missed a great set by Catfish Haven. They were in town before with Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and were amazing both times.

I actually just went for Catfish Haven last night and they were great. They will be back in June with the Pink Mountiantops.
