Land of Talk on Dependent Music, in NYC, w/ Fiery Furnaces & The Dog Day Afternoon Festival
Land of Talk released their EP Applause Cheer Boo Hiss April 4th on Dependent Music in Canada. Dependent is a cooperative label, so the artist fully owns their work. Dependent puts up some money to run a pressing, recoups its expenses, but then lets the artist have %100 of the profits thereafter. In addition, Dependent gives the artist a substantial sum of cds to sell at shows, for which the artist keeps 100% of the profit. The label is run by Jud Haynes of Wintersleep. Technically speaking, Land of Talk is still an unsigned band.
