RHCP STREET TEAMERS? (via)
Red Hot Chili Peppers

"Apple iTunes customers are voicing their displeasure with the company on Tuesday as codes promised to them to purchase tickets to the Red Hot Chili Peppers failed to go out. In a promotion launched last month, fans that pre-ordered the band's new album on iTunes were told they would also receive an email with a code that they could use at Ticketmaster.com starting May 9 to purchase concert tickets before they go on sale to the general public on May 13." AOL Music is streaming Stadium Arcadium.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers played Irving Plaza last night (May 8, 2006). Productshop was there. My friend Nick was there too. He's the same Nick who saw Pearl Jam at Irving Plaza a few nights earlier. To get in to Pearl Jam he waited 24 hours on line. To get in to RHCP he asked the first guy he saw outside the venue for an extra. Not only did the guy have an extra, he gave it to him for free. Nick's pictures below...

"How amazing to see a band like them, at this point in their career, playing an intimate venue. And I had a blast. The only problem is, the show was loud. Painfully loud. To the point where I had to leave my prime spot about 25 feet from the stage to stand in the back near the bar. My ears are still ringing. It's embarrassing to say, but maybe I'm getting too old for a show like this. Is 26 old?" [Last Stop: This Town]

here's an unofficial track list. We didn't know the new songs:

Jam
Can't stop (different lyrics @ end)
Mic check
New song "charlie's..."?
Brief jam
Scar Tissue (heavier, better guitar solo)
Quick verbal ditty, anecdote
New song (sounds like faster "can't stop")
"Not new but new to this stage" song "how deep is your love"
Throw Away Your Television
Flea solo (Neil Young song) For Anthony
New song (melodic... "Hey lo")
Me & My Friends
New Single
New Song
By the Way track 4
Right on Time
Flea & John
Californication
Full jam
By the Way

Soul 2 Squeeze (Jack Johnson cameo?)
Give it Away
"Let your mind float away" (dude from Mars Volta, super jammy-jam)

flea irritates me. a dim little man trying way too hard to be interesting.

Nerd alert! If I had to choose which is more interesting and which is more irritating, I'd have to say that the bad ass bass player was more interesting and the irritable cool kid is more irritating.

I was there. I saw the guy who plays the main character in the sitcom "Teachers." He's very short in person.

So, I'm not really a fan (at all), but just saw this article, and yeah, I guess they're still relevant:

Chili Peppers Post 'Stadium' At No. 1

For the first time in their 22-year career, Red Hot Chili
Peppers score a No. 1 album on The Billboard 200. The two-
disc "Stadium Arcadium" (Warner Bros.) sold 442,000 copies
in the United States in its debut week, according to Nielsen
SoundScan. The total is the band's career best sales week,
beating the opening week of 2002's "By The Way," which bowed
at No. 2 with 282,000.
