Arts & Crafts releasing Phoenix in Canada

"Believe me, it's happening. Majors want to get Arts & Crafts to run the release of the first few hundred albums, so it looks like [the artists are] on Arts & Crafts. They can get press interest now in a way that the majors just can't." [Jason Collett]

Phoenix's It's Never Been Like That comes out June 13th in Canada - on Arts & Crafts. It came out May 23rd in the U.S. on Astralwerks. Astralwerks is owned by Virgin/EMI.

query, "run the release of the first few hundred albums..." does that mean first few hundred SALES of the new Phoenix albubm, or does it have some other meaning?

Arts & Crafts is distibuted by EMI in Canada, the label that put out the last two Phoenix discs in Canada...so I'd say there is a "indie cred" marketing campaign going on with it on A&C
