Bjork was the DJ @ Stud Bar in San Francisco

DJ BJORK & MATTHEW BARNEY @ THE STUD BAR, SF | 6/21/06 [CRED]
DJ Bjork

I'd take a secret DJ gig by Bjork over Madonna any day, plus she probably really played records. (thx JamBase)

"plus she probably really played records."

did you notice the action revolves around the CD mixer and the laptop for mp3s, while the 1200s are untouched to the far left?

oh oh! records = street cred! *takes notes*

oh yeah, by "records" I meant she probably played anything at all - I think Madonna just stood over the DJ booth at Misshapes and posed for pictures.

records aren't vegan, dude.

Actually, Barney and his assistant were DJ-ing. Bjork was just there for support. She only went up to the DJ booth after a while. And I guess it was "fun," if you enjoy death metal, which is what he was playing.
300 people pushing each other to stare at Bjork. Yeah, that's really cool. It sucked, people!

beenthere, I totally agree--- "brooklynvegan", you are portraying the evening as something it was NOT-- fun.
It was because of hundreds of loser asshole gawkers with camera phones, like yourself, that what was meant to be a private event for people who worked on the sfmoma show (myself) became an intolerably uncool starstruck clusterfuck. Next time, stay home.

just for the record, I was not at this event.

For the record... M Barney played for 50 min, Bjork did DJ and it was a blast... Get over yourselves and enjoy life...

Honestly, that Madonna thing looks like more fun. She was putting on a little performance, with the stage and everything. It was for the audience.
At the Stud it was actually just Bjork hanging out with her boyfriend and entourage. Not on a stage or anything. The Stud is shaped like a bar, not a club. People couldn't actually SEE her unless they were right up by the window. It was like she was in a fish bowl! As the picture shows. Hence the scrambling, the violent pushing, and the standing and staring and outstretched arms holding camera phones. It wasn't cool. And it was VERY difficult to get a drink, as the bar was totally understaffed. Just setting the record straight about what kind of scene this was!

But "Bjork" poster, I'm glad you enjoyed it. To each his own!

Those of us who were personally invited by Barney are just a annoyed that it turned out to be a mob scene (literally!). He somehow expected it to be pretty empty (I don't know why they didn't anticipate that word would get out, though -- Bjork's so famous and has INTENSE fans).

In general, staring at celebrities is highly overrated. I'm from NYC, where it simply isn't done!

That a strange shot of Bjork. She kind of looks like a duck or a fish.

i was there she didn't play records, she played off her itunes, and she played speed metal and justin timberlake "cry me a river" and kelis "milkshake"
