Damon McMahon is on Astralwerks | MP3, album, show

Inouk's former frontman Damon McMahon is pursuing a career as a solo artist. I knew that. What I didn't realize until recently was that he has an album coming out on Astralwerks, home of Brian Eno, Beth Orton, Phoenix, Placebo, Chemical Brothers, Kraftwerk, etc...

Mansions comes out July 25, 2006. Elizabeth Taylor, a track from that album, is available for download or stream on his MySpace page (I played it on my radio show last night too). Damon is playing with a full band at Tonic in NYC on Thursday, June 8, 2006 (with Essie Jain and Mike Wexler).

Former INOUK member Glen Brasile has ventured off on his own band MILLERITES.

After a messy breakup between the two McMahon brothers, Inouk had an unsuccessful comeback during 2006 CMJ ASTRALWERKS showcase-- where Alexander McMahon became the band's new frontman. While his brother Damon attempted a solo acoustic album which was soon after dropped by the label.

Being the first to leave Inouk after the 2006 reintegration of the band, Brasile has put together a group of songs that are not only mesmerizing, but unpretentious and refreshing.

The buzz is that Ian Fenger, currently with Ambulance LTD, will be joining. And the Millerites will be playing a "private" show in New York, some time in september.
