A shame this is the half that gets to enter the country. Their album's not nearly as interesting as Babyshambles'.

If by interesting you mean piss-poor production and a band in tune only about 1/3 of the time AND guest spots by Kate Moss, then sure,Waterloo isnt as interesting....

I have this album from UK iTunes, and it's the best debut I've heard all year, and perhaps the best record I've heard all year, period. And I wasn't much of a Libertines fan, but Carl sounds great here.

NME had it streaming for a while. It was bland, bland, bland. I'd much rather watch a trainwreck than something unable to justify its existence.

the babyshambles record is as much of a trainwreck as is pete doherty's life is right now. The DPT record is a great relief for the post-libertines world.

Didz should have stuck with the Cooper Temple Clause.

the only reason anyone enjoys babyshambles is cause it's kind of like rubber-necking at a car-wreck
dirty pretty things is full of the organization and the style, not the drugged up material, that made the libertines great - it's music

"Dirty Pretty Things"?
What a bunch of derivative toolbags. Nice chest hair, jackassy.

Any idea when tix go on sale? Ticketweb is saying they are currently inaccessible...

I think they should change their name to Chest Hair Jackassy. or Jackassies.

you seem to be quite infatuated with his chest hair
can anyone say "insecure"

I saw DPT play at the Henry Fonda in 06. They played a great show. I think some of their stuff measures up to The Libertines. It's too bad they came peeked in the UK at 3, and in the U.S. at 300.

Sure Dirty Pretty Things aren't quite as interesting as Babyshambles but I found this to be a great album and I wish they were comming to Colorado!

It's true, Pete is a complete mess and his life probably shouldn't be glamorized, but it's a little like when The Pogues kicked out Shane McGowan. They weren't really The Pogues any more, or in fact any good really. Whatever you think about DPT or Pete Dougherty you have to admit Up The Bracket was an amazing record!

i like both bands--i don't think a "DPT vs. Babyshambles" showdown is really what's intended by these two bands. Pete and Carl both have different styles. in the libertines, these were combined, but even separately, they're two of my favorite bands
plus, shotter's nation was much easier to listen to than down in albion (although i like albion more--there is no equivalent to "merry-go-round" on shotter's nation)
