even if Tweedy doesn't show up at these (which he's free, but that doesn't mean he will...), go anyway...
i've seen Golden smog both w/ Tweedy and w/o a few times and they're a killer show regardless.

Tweedy will not be doing any promotional work (i.e., interviews, shows) for this album--heard that directly from a friend at Lost Highway.

ticketweb is still acting wonky for me...
Posted by Qbertplaya | June 6, 2006 12:34 PM
ticketweb seems quite broken right now

Has anyone gotten through? I'm "still loading"!

I called ticketweb on the phone and their system is down. According to Bowery Ballroom site, tickets for this show are $25.

Thanks for the info min. Is ticketweb online the only way to get tickets? No phone or mercury lounge BO options?
Posted by chris | June 6, 2006 1:04 PM
According to Bowery calendar, $25 (before fees)...now if Ticketweb would only work!
I second the notion that you should go see Golden Smog with or without Tweedy. I caught them August 2004 at Bowery without Tweedy, didn't know anything by them, and had an awesome time. One of my top 10 shows of 2004 easily.

Can you order tickets over the phone and if so can someone psot the phone number I can't find it on their site.

Since the system is down, they can't sell tickets over the phone and I called Mercury and they can't selling tickets either.

just called mercury lounge. they sell their tix through ticketweb too, so they haven't been able to sell any tix at all, so don't waste your time going down until the ticketweb site is back up...

This is happening more and more with Ticketweb. Not at all pleased.

Steve, while i don't doubt that, i still wouldn't be shocked if Jeff showed up at the Mpls show ;)
he's free, so it's just up to him if he wants to do it or not, nothing to do with Lost Highway or promotiona, etc... i know he has a total blast playing w/ his old friends so never know.
last time he played w/ them was here in '03 at the 400 Bar, and it was amazing. Jeff played a short solo set the next night too.

I'm already planning on a frustrating afternoon of having my credit card charged 3 times by ticketweb, but getting no tickets. At least they're pleasant when you call to get your refund.

maybe ticketweb is still down because it is the DEVIL?
(oh, i guess that would be more appropriate for ticketbastard....)
oh well....happy 06.06.06 folks!

No Tweedy as expected, but Mike Mills of R.E.M. and Craig Finn of the Hold Steady showed up.
They covered "Starman" by Bowie, "Revolution Blues" by Neil Young and "I Wanna Be Your Dog" with Finn on lead vocals.
Nice show!

Great show!

The Golden Smog show at First Avenue in Minneapolis on July 23rd was excellent. Even though it was packed and these are some of our hometown heros, the Star Tribune didn't even review it. When they performed the song "V" I just about dislocated my hips from dancing so much. The show was great; Kraig Johnson was especially in good form with his soaring vocals.
