Growing | free show at PS1 Thursday, new album
Pitchfork gave Growing's new album a 6.8 yesterday. It's possible you saw Growing when they opened for Mogwai in March. This Thursday they're playing a free show at PS1 in Long Island City.....
Thursday, June 15th, 6:30pm - 9pm
Into the Prism: Rose Kallal 16mm film installation with live music performance by Growing.
Visual and sound artist Rose Kallal and the band Growing present a performance of 16mm projection and music. Set inside a majestic attic space adjacent to P.S.1's roof terrace, the synesthesia-inspired performance will feature an installation of Kallal's 16mm film loops which combine a complex use of color, light, and geometric forms, accompanied by the duo Growing (Joe Denardo and Kevin Doria), whose dense, loud, and abstracted sounds draw upon musical styles such as drone, minimalism, and ambient.
Free admission.
P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center
22-25 Jackson Ave at the intersection of 46th Ave in Long Island City, 11101
