Jay Z played Nokia Theatre - plays Radio City tonight
JAY-Z @ NOKIA THEATRE, NYC | JUNE 24, 2006 [CRED]

"I had the chance to see the 10th anniversary of Jay Z's debut album, Reasonable Doubt, in its entirety at the Nokia last night, June 24th. Although I do not have a picture (due to a bad zoom on the cell phone) I can assure you all Jay Z looked super toted def. He came on stage with a white jacket and just after two songs he took off his jacket for us all to see his wicked black t shirt with diamonds in the shape of wings on both the front and back of the shirt. WOW...my eyes! Talk about ]blinging.'" [Totes Def]
"Jay started out in a white blazer but soon removed it to show off he sequenced t-shirt. I'm thinking Beyonce wasn't in town for surely she would've vetoed that wardrobe choice. You can't quite see the level of gaudiness in these pictures but trust me...." [Sit Down Stand Up]

In an unusual bit of musical fusion, marla hansen (from Sufjan Stevens' Illinoise) will be joining Jay-Z tonight on cello. I'll have her intriguing solo music up on my site tomorrow.

the show at Nokia was good; no "big" stars as guests. i wonder if that will be different tonight at Radio City.
