Are you all talking about Les Savy Fav or Barbra Streisand?

is the Les Savy Fav show one in the series of free shows this summer at McCarren?

All the good McCarren Pool shows are $50 after surcharges... I'll be listening from just outside the walls with a case of beer by my side.

When did people get too cheap to pay for good music. I really don't understand why everyone wants something for nothing.
Posted by danfun | June 9, 2006 10:15 AM
I don't mind paying. I do mind paying a price that I feel is too expensive.
Posted by Chris | June 9, 2006 10:55 AM
we arent cheap, we're poor.

Here we go again. The Hipster Trustafarians are going to start complaining about high ticket prices and the deep dark conspiracy amongst concert promoters to screw them out of their parents money. Go out and get a J.O.B.

again, its free

dudes,
chill. its the opening night of the JellyNYC series, and it is indeed FREE....whew....
Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2006 12:28 PM
do u think Les Savy Fav gets remotely the same $$ that an artist like Bloc Party (with Secret Machines)? Bloc Party can charge those prices because they proved they can sell records and draw huge crowds. thats why their agent can set the ticket price so high, which is coupled with the actual costs of putting on a show in the venue. do you think the artists know 1 ioda of what goes on when the negotiating happens? you indie-slobs need to think shit out a bit more...do you really think LSF can get away with charging more than $20? they can't...and its fucking free, do you need me to pay for the air in your '60's Schwinn so you can get there?
regardless, pumped for the show!

I will gladly pay for this show to avoid the rush of jobless hipsters.
Posted by notrustfundforme | June 9, 2006 12:34 PM
So I am no longer allowed to have an opinion whether or not a show it too expensive. Ok, got it.
And if I do think that, I will be called a trust fund hipster (which I find hysterical) and I apparently don't have a job. Ey ey Captain.
What a crock.
This is soooo silly. Teddy P was right.
I'll see ya'll at the free shows.

Chris: Do you have a job or are you just cheap or a whining bitch that hangs out on blog all day while his parents pay for his interet connection?
Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2006 3:11 PM
not that it's any of your business, but i do have a job.
Posted by Chris | June 9, 2006 5:34 PM
free shows usually mean bad sound and talking crowd.
but it also puts gas in my car
