McCarren Park Pool update | Free shows, capacity, stuff

1) According to JellyNYC, the capacity of McCarren Park Pool is 5000+.

2) Bloc Party, Secret Machines & MEW is sold out.

3) Supposedly the fan-club Bloc Party show at Irving Plaza is going to happen.

4) McCarren Park Pool is controversial. (I was also BCC’d on the email Gothamist posted)

Silversun Pickups is a nice surprise – that’s the first mention I’ve heard of them coming to this coast any time soon. Beirut for free to 5000 people should be interesting, interesting like Joanna Newsom to 5000 people – interesting, but good (by the way Joanna – please book another show while you’re here). Don’t forget Beirut has a lot of not-free more intimate shows coming up too. And don’t forget Sonic Youth has two not-free shows at the Pool too.
