WHAT: PopRally is a new program of events at The Museum of Modern Art and P.S.1 Contemporary Arts Center created for young New Yorkers. Launched in April, PopRally features musical acts, performances, film screenings, receptions, and special viewings of exhibitions.

This second PopRally event offers cocktails and a private viewing of the exhibition Douglas Gordon: Timeline. The evening’s musical performance is by Chicks On Speed, in collaboration with artist Douglas Gordon and other surprise guests, in The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden. Chicks On Speed will perform their new single "Art Rules."

The first PopRally presented the world premieres of Marcel Dzama’s films The Lotus Eaters (2006) and Sad Ghost (2006), with live musical accompaniment.

Douglas Gordon: Timeline
Artist Douglas Gordon (Scottish, b. 1966) addresses the familiarity and popularity of moving pictures by manipulating, reframing, and superimposing them to alter viewers’ perceptions. This retrospective of Gordon's work presents 13 significant works by the artist, including 24 Hour Psycho (1993), Between Darkness and Light (After William Blake) (1997), Play Dead; Real Time (2003), and the new work M: FUTILE FEAR (2006). The exhibition is on view through September 4, 2006.

Chicks On Speed
Formed in 1997, the members met at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. The group consists of Alex Murray Leslie, Melissa Logan, and Kiki Moorse, who started the group as an art project that has gradually merged into the medium of music to create unique performances.
