Ryan Adams & James Iha and America

America took time away from recording their next album (a double album due out October 17th on Sony's Burgandy Records) to play BB King's to a lively, attentive audience. Helping them produce the album are James Iha and Adam Schlesinger. Both joined the band (along with Ryan Adams) on the well-received encore of "Horse With No Name". [Fresh Bread]

That show took place June 1st. On June 12th Ryan supposedly played a surprise midnight set at Rockwood Music Hall after watching Tom Ceraulo who played at 11:00. Rockwood Music Hall is the same place I saw Norah Jones play on May 24th which was the same night Ryan Adams made a surprise appearance at Mercury Lounge.

There is but I don't expect RA&C to play for very long. However I could see Ryan playing with Robert Plant.

Ryan did indeed play on the 12th June. I was the Midnight performer, playing after Tom (although the evening ran a little late). Having played the Rockwood earlier this year, I was only in NY for one night and organised a last minute set with Ken. It was a great surprise to see Ryan in the audience!

I simply cannot wait for this book to be released. Matysik's books offer a tremendous insight into the strange world of pro wrestling. 'Wrestling at the Chase' and 'Brody' is a hard act to follow, and Larry is the only author who can pull it off.
