The new issue of the Voice adds Serena Maneesh to the list of bands playing this year's Siren Festival. They don't have Priestess yet, but in addition to the 13 bands listed the ad, there's an "And More". It also says "MisShapes DJing all day".

Awesome. Let's hope they're not nearly as sloppy and awful as they were at N6.

The Village Voice website has also been updated.

I guess Budweiser isn't chipping in much this year, because *every* band doesn't have the same star caliber of bands from previous years.

seriously. one good band saved the whole event.

"I guess Budweiser isn't chipping in much this year, because *every* band doesn't have the same star caliber of bands from previous years"

- and this is a bad thing????

I'd rather see this group of bands over bands like Morningwood, VHS or Beta, Nine Black Alps, Ambulance LTD, Diamond Nights, etc...

I'm think more like Superchunk, Mission Of Burma, Shins, Dirtbombs, Trail of Dead, and the countless other "name" acts. I still the festival is good, but now we have a bunch of bands with only one album.

yeah.

well maybe all the chaos over at VV has something to do with that too.

To be fair, The Shins were a one album band when they played Siren. Definitely not a "name" band at that point. I'd say that when they played Siren they were on the same level as TNT.+

But yeah, the others were more established.

If Leigh of MisShapes will be scantily dressed, it may be worth going to Siren just to see her.
