Super Furry Animals is Rain or Shine

The free Super Furry Animals show at South Street Seaport is just a few hours away. The website says it's Rain or Shine.

UPDATE: According to some in the comments, this show did not happen.

UPDATE 2: This show DID sort of happen.

I just heard from a friend of the band that they will not play if it's raining. Not saying it's absolutely true, just that that's what I heard.

the website actually says '...weather permitting and under safe conditions.'

This is what I was told:

Rain only, the show goes on...

Lightening such as last night will delay and possibly result in cancellation of the show.

Bring a poncho.

"the website actually says '...weather permitting and under safe conditions.'"

um, actually it says "This show is RAIN or SHINE and unless the weather becomes dangerous to our audience and artists we will do our best to present this event as scheduled."

The show did happen...sort of. I was there in the front row and they played 3 songs (God! Show Me Magic, Drygoni, and Golden Retriever) before they had to stop the show because of increasing rain. That's too bad because they said they were going to play material from each album. But here's the best news in the world: Gruff came down from the stage and played a solo acoustic set with no microphone or amplifier, just him and his guitar with the 2 brains, for the fans who didn't leave. The set included a Welsh singalong I didn't know, Hello Sunshine (dueting with a woman who sings the opening part of the album), Pscylone!, and a song Gruff made up on the spot about umbrellas (suggested to him by the guy standing next to me), pirate ships (as this was south street seaport), and a chorus about going to the mall for shelter. It was glorious.
