The Ballet | A NYC "sissy pop band" | MP3s & show
THE BALLET

After confirming that Voxtrot's singer Ramesh would DJ the show at Syrup Room on June 29th with Land of Talk and Tokyo Police Club, I asked their manager James if he had any suggestions for a third band. He asked if I'd heard of a NYC band called The Ballet. I hadn't. He said their live show is good and Ramesh himself is actually a big fan. So then I checked out their MP3s, and MySpace, and immediately decided to ask them. For fans of Voxtrot, The Smiths, Belle & Sebastian, The Magnetic Fields and other "sissy pop"....

My brain cannot take anymore of these dinky, prissy, half-singing,whiney, pencil-case carrying indie bands. Sometimes, you just want to ROCK. Like right now. I want to ROCK. And hear guitars and primal drums and fire. FIRE!

cos i want to listen to something different now. sure i dug those kinds of bands.. but lately, my brain is oversaturated with loads of those kinds of bands that all sound the same. just feel like i need a change of pace. variety... I want to ROCK right now. Sure, i like my pop... But i want to listen to some power and rock and energy with my pop right about now. btw, bv doesn't only post about dinky, prissy indie bands. bv has a vast array of desires.

hey I'm glad this went well. Everybody had a really great time, sounds like.
I myself was in Caracas, Venezuela running a 102 fever and barely able to breathe with a clenched up throat. Some kind of allergic food reaction I think.
Anyway, glad to work together and glad it worked out.
