The Raconteurs add 2nd NYC show | Dr. Dog opening
Dr. Dog definitely have friends in high places. They'll be supporting the Raconteurs at fifteen shows including BOTH NYC ones - the one we knew about and the one that was just announced. (thx Bumpershine)

Roseland = da suck

I was just happy not to get shut out this time. I have terrible luck with picking shows that sell out in 12.5 seconds, and i'm not a music-industry blogger, so I don't automatically get tickets to everything. So yay. And commence the 3-month wait. Never heard of Dr. Dog. Terrible name, though.

word to the dog - not sure about the hate, seems unnecessary. I'll take them over the raconteurs anyday...

the raconteurs should be opening up for dr. dog

-"...should be opening for dr. dog" - agreed. Raconteurs is a mundane, less-than-the-sum-of-its-parts waste of time. I like Brendan Benson's songs, but saw him live and it was half-assed, and I'll never forgive him for it. Dr. Dog put in 100% every time and are a great live act - their first record doesn't do them justice, but their songs are excellent. Listen to "Say Something" and sleep through "Steady As She Goes."

seems like doghater lets pitchfork's grudges dominate his actual tastes, because if he'd love dr. dog

dr. dog are seriously one of the most underrated bands out there, along with m. ward. god forbid someone not like dr. dog due to pitchfork's shitty reviews...
