Tickets on sale for Mew @ Hiro Ballroom

DOWNLOAD: Snow Brigade (MP3)

Ticketweb just says "Mew", though the tour dates say it's a "solo show". Either way, tickets are on sale.

wow....22$

that's a little much. Especially considering the bloc party show is 50

I think "solo" just means without Bloc Party and the Secret Machines. $22 is a lot for a band that few people in this country know about. I'm not entirely sold on Glass Handed Kites but I thought Frengers was an excellent dose of bombast. Can't wait to see them live.

actually, MEW, a band that will no doubt soon be on the cover of some shiny pop-encrusted magazine, happens to be doing for rock what bjork did for pop.

after releasing a slew of strangely catchy hits that stayed under the U.S.'s radar, mew's new 70-minute-song-of-a-record, "Glass-Handed Kites" is probably the most unique, versatile, and graceful album to be put out in 2006 under the rock category.

their capacity for ingenuitive song-writing, along with vocals that are as beautiful on the surface as they are in their layered complexity, is groundbreaking for a rock band in these times of catchy hipster band-wagons and over-the-top coolness.

missing their show now will leave you waiting in line at the box office to get a ticket next year, after they've caught the world's attention.

AND THE NEXT TIME I SEE YOUR COMP-GEEK ASS, I'LL SHOVE THAT CUTE LITTLE PLASTIC YELLOW CREATURE DOWN YOUR GODDAMNED THROAT AND RIP YOU INTO SO MANY FUCKING PIECES THAT THE POLICE WILL HAVE TO "COLLECT THEM ALL" TO MAKE ANY SENSE OF YOU.

but seriously folks, this will be a good show.

I was at the show last night and I can vouch that it was completely worth the 22.00. First, they sounds better live than on recornding, and 2 the visuals were stunning. That show will probably be the last time you can catch them at a intimate venue of about 100.00 people. After this tour with secret machines and bloc party they will no noubt blow up. I agree their new albums has to be one of the best ever.
