Cast of Sweeney Todd, Nellie McKay & Duncan Sheik | playing Bowery Ballroom
"Michael Cerveris and his band will perform in downtown New York City with his current Broadway Sweeney Todd castmates and special guests Nellie McKay (late of The Threepenny Opera) and Spring Awakening composer Duncan Sheik. Doors open at 8 PM for the 'Fleet Street on the Bowery' evening at the Bowery Ballroom Aug. 21. The one-night-only performance will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. " [Playbill]

Here's a did-you-know....
Did you know that Adam Lasus, who produced CYHSY's debut, also produced Michael's album "dog eared," back in 2004? Cervaris also recorded a heretofore unreleased album with Teenage Fanclub as his backing band?
I don't know why the hell I have this useless information in my head...but I do.

Michael Cerveris is awesome...I just saw him in Sweeney for the second time on Monday.
Coincidentally, I also saw Manoel Felciano (also in Sweeney) who will also be at the Bowery at a fun 80s Bad Love Songs covers show at Don Hill's earlier this year and he rocked a song by Journey.

Actually, the heretofore unreleased album Cerveris recorded with Teenage Fanclub is set for release this fall. Titled the Hinterlands EPs, it's due out in October on Low Heat records. And I think Nellie is scheduled to perform a number of her own songs and some things with Michael, but probably not a full solo set.
