GORILLA BISCUITS IN LIVERPOOL, 1989 (CRED) (SET LIST)

Gorilla Biscuits are playing CBGB on September 3, 2006. That's one day after their sold-out tour-ending show at BB King's with Murphy's Law and Leeway. That's six days before the Angry Samoans play CBGB, and it's 27 days before CBGB closes for good. It's also a little more than a year after GB's now legendary 2005 reunion at CBGB.

Hey can you (or a reader) give me some advice? I have tickets to see the BB King's Show. Does anyone know who else will be on the CBGB's bill with the GBs? I want to have one last go-around at CBGBS before it closes (so I bought Samoans tickets) but are there any opinons on who else might make an showing at the CBGB's show that would make it worth getting GBs tickets?

"Gorilla Biscuits featuring More awesome bands to be announced"
Tickets are $9.99!
I just got two. Since it is Labor Day weekend, I might be out of town, but the price it pretty cheap so not much money will be lost.
I hope some photobloggers shows up. See 'em in the pit.

Yes I hope some photobloggers show up and get stomped into the ground.....watching them scurry down to the Tapes N Tapes show with their tails firmly between legs....

I'm beside myself....I scored two tickets, which has instantly removed the sting I've felt since I got shut out of the 2005 sale and was forced to watch the tiny CB's webcast.

"It's called a Sunday Hardcore Matinee...."
Ah, I remember getting my ass kicked back by skins at CBGB sunday matinees in the '80s because I was a skinny metal kid with long hair. Ah, the memories. Now we have multi-million dollar condos.

I'm not a photoblogger, but I shoot a lot of concert photography and I have a lot of hard thinking to do....do I want to be forced to the side to get a good picture spot or do I want to be in the center of the chaos for old time's sake.....

Wow, anonymous and gurple! You're so fuckin' hardcore. I love how you actually post comments on a music photoblog. ahahahaha.

hahahh. anyone having to ask about the start time doesn't belong there.

Thanks, anon, I did.
And d, that's the sort of cliquish attitude no band deserves from its fans. More, merrier, no?

"that's the sort of cliquish attitude no band deserves from its fans"
Seriously, how can you be a hardcore fan and not know about CB's sunday matinees? Or is it just NYHC that sings about it? I must admit, I never was into the SoCal scene, so perhaps it is a local thing.

Something tells me J isn't necessarily a hardcore fan but someone constantly taking in a ton of live music (as per the blog to which he/she links, presuming it's his/hers). hence their confusion over the matinee's start time. if J knows little about hardcore, then GB is an excellent entry point.

anybody have an extra?
Posted by tim | August 2, 2006 9:21 AM
1) That's not GBs in the picture shown. That's a liverpool band that toured with them a bit back in the day
2) One of the bands for the Matinee is Bold who reunited last year.

not even a band in that photo. just the audience. there's another picture on that photographer's site of those kids just cheering.
Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2006 3:10 PM
but, you're right, hardcore abe. if the guy with his back to the camera is part of the band, it doesn't look gb.
