Mates of State played ("Crazy" at) Castle Clinton

MATES OF STATE @ CASTLE CLINTON, NYC | JULY 6, 2006 (CRED)

I wasn't there, but people in the comments are already talking about Mates of States's cover of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy". Check out "The Evolution of Crazy" (and get all the cover versions you need) @ MFKWCRG. (via TW)

The cover was just eh. Like U Crazy is already one of my favorite songs, so eh, I don't know if I needed to hear the GB cover attached to the end. Though covering GB seems to be the hip thing to do right now. Who knows.

Good show otherwise. Minus the idiots all around talking through every song, and the stage that's raised maybe one foot off the ground so nobody can see a thing. Though, good show.

P.S. I don't know if it's better or worse than the version above.

i thought the show rocked. the band performed great as usual, the weather was perfect, and the crowd - at least everyone around me - was really into it. the band talked about maybe moving to nyc. i hope they do.
