sounds like they are complaining about a whole lot of nothing. kids can walk home after a show, cant they?

I know this is an obvious response, but who moves close to a concert venue and doesn't expect these things?

wow, except for not knowing where to put the smokers outside, i always thought the knitting factory had one of the better-behaved crowds. where is this coming from?

Hey, some people pay good money to see that!!

KF is a beacon of light in an otherwise creepily dark and deserted area. But I suppose this child will be scarred for life, knowing that girls pee.

If they're going to start shutting things down due to public urination, well, there goes the F train.

I'm sure she cares A LOT more than her ten year old.

Leave New York.

Jesus christ, last time I checked this was still new york wasn't it? You should have no expectation of a wholeosme experience when you walk around an area like that at night. That's why people love this city.

I feel for the long time residents of Lower East Side who have watched things get out of control in their neighborhood but I don't feel so much for the people in Tribeca who most likely knew what they were getting themselves into.

It's already a pretty noisy city and living near a music venue is obviusly going to be more hectic than usual. Geez, people move here because it is a cultural mecca and then try to destroy cultural havens? Not nice.

its just a matter of time before knitting closes...which is such a fucking shame. i love that venue, that area...it was better than the original one in my opinion.

What the fuck is your 10 year old doing up past 11:00 anyway? Nice Parenting!

the LES people moved in to the madness but the people screaming and making asses of themselves are a bunch of tools so im siding with the residents.

knitting is different. they are a downtown institution that helped the area.

Oh, please. Without KF, that area would be creepy and deserted (hell, two blocks away it's creepy and deserted), and a girl peeing would probably be the least disturbing thing they'd see, by far.

Its funny. I was just talking to someone last week about how CBGB's, The Bottom Line, and The Wetlands were all pushed or priced out due to, in some way, the real estate market. Then the topic turned to KF and how with the new construction on the corner, and people moving there, that it was only a matter of time until it was also pushed out. Sad.

that area is pretty devoid of bathrooms, that's not news to anyone. there is a subway or something up the street. the KR staf is pretty good about letting you in if you are in line and have to go (for women at least).

KF is so well run inside and out - seriously, i don't think that people give them as much credit as they deserve. Instead, they get stuck being threatened with getting their liquor license taken away and of course, ruining 'wholesome' lower manhattan. Whatever.I'm not just saying this because i worked there for a year - it really IS a great fucking place and a lot of people won't realize that until uptown-moved-downtown yuppies shut it down.

It shouldn't be the KFs responsibility to keep people from pissing in public at the other end of the block cause I know that shit doesn't happen right in front o the club. Besides, there is another club on the same block (Peppers) and I know the Knit sometimes takes heat for some of Pepper's crowd. I can sympathize for residents who have been around longer than the club, but a majority of the residents have only moved there in the past few years and should have been aware of the situation that they were getting themselves into.

I'm just wondering, how old was the 'girl'?, there's a difference between a little 3-year-old girl [or boy] making a little peepee when there's no bathroom, and a grown woman or man pissing on the street.
If I saw any adult peeing in public I would be disgusted too by their indecency, if it was a little kid, well, it would have been more decent if they used the potty but it's harder for them to control their bladders. Adults should not be doing that in front of others, and if there is no bathroom, they could at least find a desolate area to pee in.
