The Black Crowes like Frankies 457 in Brooklyn

Frankies 457 is a vegan-friendly reasonalby-priced fancyish Italian restaraunt on Court St in Brooklyn. The (vegan) food (that I've had) is awesome. In yesterday's Gawker Stalker I found out the Black Crowes are Frankies fans too...

"Chris Robinson spinning obscure psycheldic records at Frankie's 457 in Carroll Gardens last night (Monday night). Something was amiss with the turntable connection to the speakers and the sound was very scratchy. Robinson smoked lots of weed and seemed generally perplexed by the fact that his turntable sounded like crap. Ran out to the garden hurriedly one time to answer his cell phone. Wonder who that call was from..." [Gawker Stalker]

"Nevertheless, it's packed with the owners' celeb pals, like Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson. The restaurant opens at 8AM for espresso and biscotti, and serves wine and cheese deep into the night." [AOL CityGuide]

"Chris Robinson threw a birthday party for his wife Kate Hudson here." [Concierge.com]

"In one night I saw Kate Hudson, her hubby Chris Robinson and the rest of the Black Crows, and Tim Robbins." [Browstoner]

Hey D-Ron, could you please include a link to your ultra swanky blog, so I can discover what's really hip? Seriously, all you ironic hipster jackasses that come visit BV -- stop ragging on the site in an attempt to prove you're less main stream than a popular blog. Besides being annoying, it's pathetic.

I mean what was BV's big sin, giving us info about how to get tix to a free show @ Bowery Ballroom!!!

I love this site. I've gotten to see dozen of shows this year I would have normally been sold out of because I don't have the time nor inclination to track presales and such. And while BV and I don't exactly have the same tastes, he/she has introduced me to new bands, and supplied links to music streams so I can check out stuff for myself.

Sorry to pick on D-Ron, I've just had it up to here with crap like this. you want to say Voxtrot is overrated, or you don't get why Tapes n Tapes is such a big deal -- Great, that's what a blogs for -- but lay off BV, he/she doesn't have to do this, and I for one am appreciative for the info and POV of this site.

i ate next to kate one time. im a huge crowes fan and at the end of the night i heard her discussing black crowes lyrics with her friends. i mentioned this to my friends and she heard me. we started talking and she was super cool. talked with her for about ten minutes about the crowes. this was at the end of last summer and she told me they were playing MSG for New Years. Two months later it was announced. I thought that was pretty cool of her. My friends were there two nights ago and they said Chris was there. That's the second time they've seen him there. The time before he was djing in the outside building there.

This is a cool hang, I used to live around the corner on Huntington when they opened (they've since opened an outpost on Clinton St. in the LES where I live now, they're following me). Anyway, I used to see Chris, Kate, baby, and even Kurt Russell at brunch in there from time to time. Was anyone besides me a fan of Chris's New Earth Mud album? I love that shit.

Screw Gawking at so-called celebs and hipster infighting- the Pork Bracciole alone is worth the Frankies visit.

Seriously, it's not like BV is writing about Linkin Park. It's the Black Crowes. I've been to enough lower east side bars (before they desperately tried to be hipper than thou, when they were actually cool) that played The Black Crowes. Deep down inside, you know that if The Black Crowes were labelled as alt-country you would love it. So stop being snobs and go back to your elitist rock blog igloo if you don't like the Vege.
