The Music of Bob Dylan @ Lincoln Center - Nov 9, 2006
DYLAN & PATTI SMITH (VIA)

Patti Smith, Phil Lesh, Philip Glass, Rosanne Cash, Cat Power, Lee Renaldo Project, Medeski Martin & Wood, Natalie Merchant, Warren Haynes & Gov't Mule, Al Kooper & The Funky Faculty and Chris & Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes are all confirmed to play The Music of Bob Dylan (one cover each) at Avery Fisher Hall (Lincoln Center) in NYC on November 9, 2006. It's a benefit for the Music for Youth Foundation produced by Michael Dorf who also did the Joni Mitchell tribute show at Carnegie Hall.
This is the show Patti Smith is playing. Bob Dylan's songs will also be on Broadway and he's even playing his songs himself this summer too.

pot calling the kettle black -- hippies *were* hipsters. it's all the same fucking thing, same as it's always been hipsters=scenesters=beats=hippies=bohemians= people in on good music & art [which can be further subdivided into people who are into good music & art in a modish, cheap, shallow, opportunistic way, and who tend to be possessive and miserly about it [negative connotation of hipsters]; or people into it for its own sake, and who want to spread it around [positive connotation]]. As with most misunderstandings, it's a question of semantics.

So, does anyone have an onsale date or prices for this?

I didn't write "Hippies WERE [i.e., in their heyday] better people..." I wrote, "Hippies ARE better people..." Meaning, if one compares the hippies who are around now, as a group, to the hipsters of today, the hippies win.

"the hippies win."
...now that's a frightful thought.
