Too bad the new album sucks in a dreadful way. Worst album of the year, or up there anyway.

I saw The New York Dolls last night, 8/5 at the San Diego Street Scene. They were by far one of the best bands. They sang the new album and the crowd was very receptive. I still LOVE THE NEW YORK DOLLS!

The New York Dolls were awesome - 30 YEARS AGO. They're nothing without JOHNNY THUNDERS. Thunders was the heart and soul of that band. And let's face it, he was 90% of the talent too. The new album is a complete JOKE. There is no trace of what made the Dolls great on this new one. Their cringe-worthy performance on Conan was just another blow to their fine legacy. Of course the music establishment (Rolling Stone) will shower them with undeserved praise which is utter B.S. Why did Johansen and Sylvain think this was a good idea? It's like Paul and Ringo reuniting The Beatles and going on tour. Bad idea, boys. You can't put your arm around a memory - so don't try.

You obviously haven't seen them live. Plus, who the hell DOES sound/look good playing in front of a late-nite boring talk-show crowd? NOBODY. A year and a half later, they are still touring from Moscow to Finland to Boise...so who had the bad idea?
