The Stills @ The 2006 Village Voice Siren Festival, Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY | pics
The Stills sounded great at Siren this year, and I don't just mean their songs - they may have been the only band I saw all day that really came through the soundsystem in a rich/clean way. I watched their whole set before running over to the Stillwell stage to catch the end of The Cribs.

I think that Without Feathers is fantastic. Completely diff from the first, but excellent nonetheless

they did sound great at siren. their new record has really grown on me. wasn't expecting to hear those new songs sound as great as they did. they're about songs. not nme trendoid, empty flash.

I'm really confused about all the Stills backlash, just because they didn't want to make the same album again. If someone just doesn't like the style of music on the new CD is one thing, but if you don't like the new CD because it's not Logic part II, I don't understand.

and brainless comments calling it "alt-country"? obviously some people don't know anything about music. and is if "alt-country" is some sort of bandwagon-road to riches..? good band. i'm betting their next record will be fantabulous.

Gogglestard (Gordon Hull from Surface To Air) is not in the band, he hangs with the cool and hip Vice crew which has the Stills on their label. I saw the Stills early on in there short career play at NorthSix. I quickly realized that they were a farce when the front of the audience were all chicks!
don't let me get started on how derivative they are, totally boring band but kids don't know any better.
