Corinne Bailey Rae is everywhere | Free NYC Show

SHE IS EVERYWHERE - YOU PROBABLY HATE HER
Corinne Bailey Rae and friends

Along with Lily Allen, Sound Team, The Decemberists, Interpol, The Magic Numbers, Kevin Devine, and LCD Soundsystem - British soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae is one of Capitol Records' newer signings. All I knew was that she was "huge" in the UK, so I made sure to show up early to catch her set at the Mercury Lounge in March (she played between the Grates and the Guillemots). Then she played right before Morrissey and Richard Hawley at SXSW, and since then I've seen her CD advertised on TV (especially VH1), on billboards, in Starbucks, and everywhere. She played a sold out show at Bowery Ballroom in June, and is playing a still-not-sold-out-moved-from-Bowery-Ballroom show at Webster Hall on August 23rd.

FREE NYC SHOW
One day after the Webster Hall show (and one day before her Boston show) - August 24, 2006 (5pm): Corinne is playing the free J&R Musicfest show at City Hall Park (where I saw Lisa Marie and Marky Ramone) in Lower Manhattan with Freddie Jackson and Joe. (thx CJ)

Watch her in concert at AOL.

Her music sucks! Once again, the Brits have no tasye in music. (Neither do Americans)

I love her music she's so beautiful and natural and she makes my day better just by listening to her hit single Put Your Records On.

corinne bailey rae is terribly untalented. i can't believe all the HYPE... and that's what it is. hype.

clearly she's forcing her voice to make some wierd, controlled, cutesy, suppressed sound. it not only looks wierd, it sounds horrible.

whoever anonymous is they really need to get a grip. and shut their mouth, if corinne isnt amazing then who is, some stupid song about being glamorous or something about being a man, what is this world coming to? finally we get some "feel good" positive music and people need feel the need to tear i down. shes amazing, her music is amazing, and she definitly has a beautiful un restricted talent, and i dont believe thst she's
"forcing" anything.

Pretty face. Not much talent. Adult easy listening crap. She is on the level of Norah Jones. Flavor of the moment.

Man Corinne is one of the best to EVER do it. And whoever hates can mos definitely go to hell. Her music speaks to the soul of the person. So whoever hates has no soul.
