Death From Above 1979 Breaks Up

DFA 1979 "i know its been forever since i wrote anything on here. im sure by now most of you assume the band isnt happening anymore since there are no shows, no work on a new album, etc. well. i wanted to let you know that your assumptions are correct. we decided to stop doing the band... actually we decided that almost a year ago. we finished off our scheduled tour dates because there were good people working for us who relied on us to make a living and buy christmas presents and pay rent etc. we couldnt just cancel everything and leave them out to dry... plus i think we wanted to see if we would reconsider after being out on the road. our label was really hoping that we would change our minds, so they asked us to keep quiet about the decision for at first. well, its been quite awhile now and we are still very sure the band wont happen again, so i guess its time to say something...." [DFA1979 via Tripwire]

DFA without out 1979 still going strong.

Yeah, I was talking to Jesse Keeler a few months ago(the interview is on my blog somewhere) and he basically said that there was a bit of a falling out and that they had decided to do other things. I'm sure you've seen or heard mstrkrft. Their new album's not that amazotron,(x-cept paris, she's good..., and easy love), but don't be fooled, cuz all their other stuff is fantasic and they rocked it both times I saw them live.

Call me late to the game, but just got into them in recent months. Alas. Bands just can't make a good thing work very long these days. Oh well.

If you don't like DFA your a Dickless Fag. You might as well log off and get to crying into your pillow because no one will have sex with you (except men and chicks that look like men).

i didn't appreciate them bragging about how they were almost deported for stealing another band's equipment at trash a few years back. good riddance. their brand of melodic-less bash rock will soon be forgotton.

DFA 1979 ROCK

Death From Above 1979 was a benchmark for the canadian music scene. Along with such acts as broken social scene, metric and others, they dominated the club scene with their hard rock anthems... even if the club scene was prodominately hip-hop. cheers to a good run.

I can't believe what I am hearing from most of you that is so rediculous, Death From Above is amazing! They rock so hard, who can make sound like that??? c'mon... So all you haters can go back to listening to your Ace of Base and Backstreet Boys CD's cause you sound like a bunch of tools who wouldn't know good music if it bit you in the ass...
