Are they still only playing the first three records? I want me some "Where You Been?"

Posted by J | August 9, 2006 12:24 PM

lou wasnt playing on where you been...so theyre not playing anything but the first 3 albums.

i agree with bv...i thought the summerstage show would be a one-off. ive been a huge fan but i have to say i was a bit bored with that concert. they just stood there.

Lou looks like he hasn't aged, but I can't say the same for the other two.

Not completely true about the first three albums. At the WOXY in-studio (pictured above), Lou admitted that he really liked "The Wagon" and wouldn't be averse to playing it live, and I believe they actually did start playing it soon thereafter. As for Where You Been, though, I'd love to hear them do it, but it ain't likely.

do they still rule it live or were most people bored like sam?

would be nice if they would do a non-Clearchannel show in NYC for a change. guess i'll have to miss them again...

No, they do in fact still rule. I think the first Dino Jr. show I saw was in '93 or '94 and even then, during their younger days, I never went to one of their shows hoping to see them jump around or dance or whatever. I've always been under the impression that one goes to see Dino Jr. because it is loud as fuck and the songs that you love on their albums sound even more brutal live. I'll go watch Karen O if I want to see a performance on stage. Plus, the dudes are middle aged now. Cut them some slack.

Hey Will, early-to-mid 40s AIN'T middle aged!

HA!

("tell it, Dfactor!")

Try mid to late 40s, Dfactor. Their first album came out in 1985. I saw them last year at a hometown show in Northampton, MA and they were excellent. If you go, bring earplugs, though!

Hey D-moron, I mean, Dfactor! If 40 isn't middle aged, what is??? Hmmm???

I graduated from high school with J in '83 (I think Tom also, but he may have been a year later) - Lou was similar age from a nearby town ... (Granby? I can't recall).

Try the tender age of ~ 41. :-)
