This sanity-restoring Snakes on a Plane parody via Boing Boing who also points out more insanity.

Ah yes, so what exactly is wrong about what was done today? If they take precaution or if they don't, nothing satisfies liberals. Except of course, terrorism.

Ah yes, I love me some motherfuckin' terrorism.

i'm still trying to figure out how come prescription meds arent banned as well. it doesnt take a rocket scientist to fake a prescription label on a bottle. and while on the subject how come an entrepenuer minded company or individual doesnt set up shop in or near airports to help passengers about to toss their paid for liquid containers away to mail it home or store it for them.

adminboy:

there are a few reasons that nobody has done your idea:

1. you can put liquids into checked baggage, just not carry on.

2. with the exception of people who drink from diamond-encrusted chalices, who really cares enough about some cheap cup to have it shipped?

people are REALLY overreacting to this. seriously, you cant carry a bottle of water onto a plane.. big. fucking. deal. they have beverages on planes. and theyre free! YUM GINGER ALE.

Airports are doing this to keep people safe which is understandable. But I see why people are getting upset, it takes away another freedom which seems pretty basic. Little by little it seems that flying, (which sucks to begin with) is getting more restrictive. Pretty soon you'll have to sit straight with your hands locked in front of you. I've heard (not verified) that on international flights you aren't able to bring anything onboard only your passport, wallet and yourself. No books, no videogames, no IPod. My (rhetorical) question is when will these new airline rules go away?

Bill Poland, 61, of Ross was headed to Lake George, N.Y., with his wife and son. He held up a tube of lip balm and shouted to a security officer who told him he couldn't bring it on the plane with him. He said he recently had a cancerous growth removed from his lip and the anti-bacterial ointment was necessary treatment.

"In an hour or two my lips are going to start burning and turning purple. And I've got five to six hours on a plane without this," he said. "This is not something I'm looking forward to."

yeah, that sucks - but having his flight blown up would be a lot worse.

i'm not saying that nice guy shouldn't be able to take his lip balm but you can't fault security for taking extra precautions at this point. it's been LESS THAN 24 HOURS since this news broke. i don't think these kinds of restrictions are going to be in place forever. everyone needs to chill the f out.

to the first person. you really believe that islamic fascists as bush calls it or terrorists wanted to bomb these six planes? you really think that they targeted these planes from uk to usa. what about flights from mexico to usa. noone checks any liquids there. imagine cancun. or canada flights, or peru, i dont know. this is all a conspiracy. the same day that israel says it is going to stop its attacks and see if diplomacy can work. israel stops attacks and terrorists are busted. thank you mosad, cia, all of you but these games are getting old, planes, terrorists, bombs, imaginary enemies, be more creative, or your end is going to come soon. a bit more original. still dealing with flights and bombs. damn you.

whatever you say osama...

osama is an ex cia agent. but i think he still is.

Posted by cruelite | August 11, 2006 4:51 AM

I can think of one reason why all the flights were coming from the UK. Brittish Blair is Bush's biggest buddy. That's it. No conspiracy. Hit both the UK and US in one act. What good would it do to punish Cananda, Mexico, or -rotfcopter- PERU?!?!?

09-11? 08-10? Coincidence!??! OMG!!! Run for the Hills!
