Nightlife Safety Takes Spotlight at City Hall (silly politicians)

"We will work with the City Council to draft legislation that will increase the use of technology to root out underage drinking, increase the use of security cameras and hold establishments accountable when they break the law," the mayor's chief spokesman, Stuart Loeser, said in a written statement.

Ms. Quinn dismissed the privacy implications of the plan. "Cameras at places of public assembly are commoplace now," she said, "I don't believe there is any expectation of privacy as it relates to going to a club."

What a sad state of affairs when the Symbionese Liberation Army is in charge of the security at New York Clubs. I would hate to be bounced out by Patty Hearst while trying to enjoy my industrial music and extacy.

Short of providing every "kid" (does he consider someone who is old enough to imbibe legally a kid?) with a bodyguard/nanny when he or she goes out, how does he propose to do what he says?

SOMTHING HAS TO BE DONE!!! someone was killed wandering around the west side by herself. We need to make sure that every club spends money on ridiculous technology.
