Kanye West & Nokia Theatre

Kanye West played the Nokia Theatre the other night. Pharrel, Common and John Legend guested. Jada saw the show and says Best show ever....then Kanye declared un-ironically that A-Ha's "Take On Me" is his favorite track of all time and did the world's cutest batmitzvah dance.. More photos on Wallace's Flickr Page.

Rhymesayers' Brother Ali has a new track called Original King (MP3) and you should listen to it. It's not going to be on his 2007 album The Undisputed Truth, there is no video, there is really nothing to talk about aside from the song being good. Production by Ant of Atmosphere.

How about this for most interesting mashup concept in Hip Hop since the Grey Album: Wu Tang Clan vs New Orleans Dixie Land. Read about it and download over at BoingBoing.

Master P created a musical that is billed as 'the first hip-hop, gospel comedy play about Hurricane Katrina'. Umm...yes, ok. The play uses humor to tell this typical American family's story as they battle the trials and tribulations of the aftermath of the deadly storm. Be sure to check out the photos and the whopping 18 page script at UncleWilly.com. More here.

Peedi Peedi, formerly Peedi Crack, protege of Beanie Sigel and former (?) Roc-A-Fella artist is set to join the Roots? Odd? Read here

And another group addition! Cilvaringz, a Dutch rapper, is set to join the Wu Tang Clan according to RZA and MTV. Yay Holland.

Papoose, one of the stronger mixtape artists out of NYC, has signed a 1.5 million deal with Jive Records. Unfortunately Jive haven't ever really successfully promoted a street rapper. Read more at SOHH and MTV . Download his Katrina tribute track Mother Nature here. Papoose hopes to release his upcoming LP, Nacirema Dream, before 2007.

The Game and Rick Ross wrote a song together. No news on whether this will appear on the Game's upcoming album. Download Blow, It's My Turn at StillListen.

Method Man's albums after his first one have been mostly dissappointing. Will his newfound hunger bring him back to the forefront of rap? Stream the full album, 4:21 The Day after, over at AOL Music.

Eminem does what is often celebrated in Hip Hop videos, spilling his beverage on a playboy model, but in this case she wasn't quite having it. Read more about this over at HipHopRuckus.

Fat Joe signs with JD, Janet Jackson's bf, over at Virgin. Up next is the release of his De La Soul Tribute album "Me, Myself & I". (Ok, it's not really a De La Soul Tribute album.) Read about it in Billboard.

the "A-Ha is my favorite track of all time"/barmitzvah dance stuff didn't happen at Nokia Theatre...the blog was referring to the previous show at Cipriani Wall Street with that.

still, it was a stunningly good show (Nokia Theatre).

Snoop did that Brazilian-themed rap with Pharell, and now he's doing a Latino-themed one? Is he becoming the Paul Simon of hip-hop?
