Best! News! Ever!

Posted by brassbonanza | September 20, 2006 12:08 PM

the last time Bad Brains played with HR I heard he had some sort of small bird in a cage on stage and was occasionally yelling incoherently at people in the crowd. I, unfortunately, missed this.

holy shit! this just made my day.

PETA is gonna get him big time...

Dammit! Why did you post this? :)

I knew about this show the day of the Gorilla Biscuits concert. Of course, I kept it to myself. Hoepfully with the $40 ticket cost, things won't get to crazy during the onsale.

Prepare for dissapointment.

Prepare for disappointment if you don't go, you mean.

HR and the Brains sat together last night watching the hardcore movie showing some of their finest moments on the CBGB stage.

They have a good fortnight to rehearse.

I think it's going to be an astonisher.

I want to buy tickets to both shows BUT I'm afraid old HR might flake and and not show. He's one crazy fucker.

I've seen Bad Brains with HR in the '90s, and they were pretty bad, simply because of HR's craziness. John Joseph did a great job singing with BB. However, HR seemed in good spirits during the Gorilla Biscuits show.

I am more excited for the Dictators show. Oops, did I just say that. ;)

i dunno about this one either. i saw the "soul brains" not too long ago and it was NOT the craziness of seeing them back in 84.

The fact that all these appearances HR has been making and not one (at least not one that I heard) story of his insanity is a good sign.

I just want to hear the album they did with Adam Yauch. it can't be as bad as God of Love can it...

$40 fucking sucks. Saw the Soul Brains in Boston in '95. They went on 2 hours late and played 5 songs, with a 10 minute break between songs for HR roll spliffs behind the backline. With all the money I've been spending on these punk reunions, maybe Hilly will finally be able to afford some kinda stall, maybe even a door, for GBGB Las Vegas's toilet. Also, does anyone know how to get ahold of some of that really early footage (http://youtube.com/watch?v=K6pjOUhojtw) that's up on youtube?

Hey folks, you will NEVER get the HR of 1979-1986 again. Anyone who's seen the 'Brains in the last seven, eight years already knows this. The band will kick, and hopefully he will stay straight enough to do a pretty good vocal performance, even though the ways he sings the songs has changed. At this point I just enjoy seeing them together and pumping out the hits!

I completely forgot about today's on sale? Was it will-call only? Does anybody have an extra, any night? I was nice enough to sell my extra ticket to Gorilla Biscuits at face value. I'm not going to miss this show (or the Dictators)!

The form doesn't show my e-mail. It is evil_goodness@hotmail.com I am a NYC native that got my ass kicked at CBGB HC matinees back in the late '80s because I was skinny metalhead kid. Ah, the memories!
